How Do Dogs Regulate Their Body Temperature?

Dogs don’t use their skin to perspire, like humans, because of their insulating coat. Their coat keeps them both cool in hot weather and warm in cool weather. Dogs do have sweat glands, located in the pads of their feet and in their ear canals, but sweating plays a minor role in regulating body temperature. When the temperature is very hot and especially when it is humid, everything heats up…including a dog’s body. His body responds by trying to cool off and it basically attempts to use conduction, convection, radiation, and evaporation. Sonny’s Spaw Schedule of Dates Closed

Occasionally, we may be closed for holidays, vacation, etc. Following is a list of dates we will be closed, please bookmark this page. 2022 Closures The two weeks before Christmas and Thanksgiving are always fully booked, if you do not have your holiday appointments set and wish to do so, I HIGHLY recommend doing so ASAP. We will be closed Thanksgiving weekend. We will be closed Dec. 24th through Jan 2nd. We will not be answering phones, texts, or emails. Thank you!
