Casey, a Great Dane rescued in February, was found in a wooded area on the Olympic Peninsula’s West End. He was emaciated and suffering from gunshot wounds. Mary Kniskern, owner of Sonny’s Spaw, sponsored a March 3rd fundraising event to raise awareness of Casey and funds to help with his recovery. The Sequim community rallied and Casey is on the mend. Sequim Food Bank – Donate Here!
Stella is sniffing out our empty donation bins for the Sequim food bank. I just discovered they are no longer able to keep bins at Petco, their biggest donation location. Stop by and drop off dog and cat food—bags, cans, wet, dry—it all helps! Food banks donations have gone way down. Stella said pleeeaazssee!
Continue readingOur First DIY Dog Wash Client!
Our first self wash client, EVER, a Keeshond! Her mom has been trying to groom her in the shower at home. Keeshonds are double coated dogs, very low to the ground, back-breaking if you have to bend over in a tub at home. Today they used the the jumbo dog room so they could use the electric lift tub and table. Easy peezy, lemon squeezy!! They’re coming back tomorrow to wash their other dog too. I’m excited to get to know this whole family better. Thank you Sue and Barbara!

Continue readingUpdate: Toevember Sock Donations
I am so grateful to have so many generous and compassionate customers. For Toevember 2020, we were able to collect and donate one giant bag of socks, hats and scarves to a longterm care facility in Sequim and two giant bags to the Rediscovery Program in Port Angeles. All donations will be distributed to those in need by people who are in the trenches helping. We accept donations of clothing items and such, year-round, which will then be given to people in the community who will get them to those in need. Thank you so much.

Good day #sequim. It’s a good time to #give. Don’t forget, for every item donated you’ll receive one #raffle ticket for a $50 gift certificate for your 2021 grooming. SHARE SHARE SHARE. This has been a rough year for all of us. Many will go without this year like many others. But with the effects of Covid it’s even worse. I know what it’s like to go without on Christmas morning. 🎄 Toes are cold 🥶 If the last few mornings are any indication, this will be a cold winter. So bring your unwrapped toy to #sonnysspaw along with a pack of new socks.
